Kidville: Happy Kids, Happy Families in LA

There’s a new place for kids to play in Los Angeles, and it is unlike any other playplace.  Kidville is the place for kids to play, but it offers so much more than just fun and play.

Featuring 4,000 square feet of space dedicated to fun in the heart of Brentwood on San Vicente across from Whole Foods, Kidville has three rooms for classes and other activities.  One room boasts a stage for concerts and performances, a studio room is meant for dancing or making a mess with classes such as Ballet Tea Party and My Big Messy Art Class, and the play room is loaded with gym equipment.  A state of the art gym with a Tumbl Trak, zipline and rock wall is the perfect home for the Big Muscles for Little Babies class.

Kidville offers 25 class titles in music & dance, gym, art, enrichment, parenting, pre-school alternative and camp as well as a kids salon and retail boutique. With signature classes like Rockin’ Railroad; Run, Wiggle, Paint & Giggle; and Savvy Scientist and Awesome Engineers, there is no shortage of learning and fun at Kidville.  Classes are offered for littles ones as young as four months through six years old, making Kidville the perfect place for families with young children.

Another attractive and convenient feature for parents is the Kidville Salon with two retro convertible cars for the littles ones to sit in while getting a haircut.  Each Station is outfitted with its own Kindle so children can play games or watch their favorite cartoon while in the salon chair.  Kidville also has a boutique featuring brands like LA Made and Go Gently Baby.

Kidville’s birthday parties for children up to age nine feature 15 fully customizable party themes, plus fun add-ons such as face painting and a live performance by our 2, 3 or 4-piece band. The all-inclusive party packages include a cake from nearby Susie Cakes and pizza from La Monicas.

Kidville is a membership-based play place, and a free Silver membership is included with enrollment in any Kidvile class.  All membership levels include exclusive benefits such as playspace passes and discounts in the salon and boutique.

Kidville celebrates its grand-opening of its newest location in Brentwood on May 12th and May 19th, so stop by and check out this great new play and learning place for kids and families.  Free classes are offered during the week of May 14th.

Join Club MomMe in our Run, Wiggle, Paint & Giggle class or whatever class best fits your little one’s personality.  And now onto the best part…MomMe VIPs receive $50 off each class and $50 off the annual membership!

Diane von Furstenberg for GapKids: Can She Help Gap Bounce Back?

We all know the state of affairs at one of the most American of retail stores, the Gap. Their sales were extremely disappointing for 2011, and they are closing stores. Re-assessing their strategy. Shaking things up.

And really, what better way to shake things up than taking a page out of H&M and Target's book and having a major fashion icon design a special line? Okay, I know what you are thinking, Madonna for H&M is not a major fashion icon, though Versace and Marni are. But did you try to log on to Target's website the day Missoni went live?

Coffee Lovers + Moms: Safety Tip for your Cup

I don't know about you, but I am more obsessed with coffee now that I am a mom than I ever have been before. Maybe this has to do with waking up (once, twice, wait I lost count) in the middle of the night. Perhaps I want to join my little one as he drinks his bottle with my own beverage, though we have never clinked bottles like I used to do with friends in my pre-mommy days. Or maybe I just don't want to go through my day as a tired zombie mommy.

Whatever it is, I now drink coffee just about every single morning. Even though I own a Nespresso (which is ah-mazing and has a new boutique at Bloomingdale’s in Century City!) and a coffee machine, I often find myself joining the daily line-up at Starbucks in my Ugg slippers and yoga pants, surrounded by put together people in business attire, oh I remember those days…
