When I first heard about crocheting, I immediately associated it with an old woman in a rocking chair. This is not so. Young and fashionable MomMes are joining this trend and opening shops on Etsy. Lacey McClure is a recent college and nursing school graduate (and MomMe to be) who was looking for a hobby to entertain her outside of work. She always liked crafts and already knew how to sew. She thought that sewing was limited, but opened up to crocheting after seeing inspiring photos of classic but fashionable designs.
All of my MomMe friends warned me about the terrible twos. Not once did I hear about teething or how your angel baby monster baby will test your patience to the limits of outer space. Heck, I can’t even get mine to eat solid food right now! One of MomMe’s favorite brands, OXO Tot, requested our recipe for parsnips for baby (we’ve also included a bonus recipe. H-Man’s new favorite is MomMe's spaghetti). MomMe loves storing little one's food in the OXO Tot baby blocks. We use both the 2oz and 4 oz cubes, depending on the recipe. We hope you enjoy it as much as our little one does!
I will never forget asking a woman to put avocado on a sandwich she was making for me when I was interning at the White House in college in our capital city. She responded with a smart chide, teasing me, “girl, do you think you are in California?” Apparently, avocados are not as plentiful across the United States as they are in the golden state. However, one thing I know is, almost everyone loves a good guacamole. Here is my recipe to make the perfect guac every time:
